Alfred Baham

Alfred Baham, 91, of 8819 Old State Rd., passed away Tuesday April 24, 2018 at Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. Born March 16, 1927 in Belmont, he was the son of Gaylord and Addie Baham Webster. On March 1, 1953 in Belmont he married the former Virginia Hale, who survives.

Alfred grew up in Belvidere and attended the Belmont rural district school. He served with the Army from 1953 to 1956. For several years he worked at the Friendship Foundry. Then he was employed at the Blue Stone Quarry in Portageville for a short time. For several years he was employed at Track Machinery in Nunda and for the next 25 years he was with the Green Thumb Co. of Allegany Co., retiring in 2015.

Alfred enjoyed gardening, hunting, cutting wood and helping to keep cars and machinery going. Most of all he loved trains and spending time with his family.

Surviving besides his wife Virginia are two daughters, Patricia Baham and Virginia Baham both of Angelica; a daughter in law, Jean Baham of Rushford; five grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta Drake of Hornell and Loretta Conderman of Alfred; and several nieces and nephews.

Alfred was predeceased by two sons, Alfred Baham Jr. and Harry Baham; a daughter in Law, Linda Baham; three brothers, Dean Webster, Edwin Webster and Alan Webster; and a sister, Wilma Webster.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday, where funeral services will be held Saturday April 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm. The Rev. David Ford, pastor of the Angelica First Baptist Church will officate and burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont. Memorials may be made to the Angelica Fire Dept.
