Almeade E. “Ebby” Michael

Almeade E. Michael, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born March 28, 1933 in Parkwood,. PA, she was the daughter of Burton M. and F. Evelyn Fleming Mull. On December 12, 1952 in Angelica, she married Elwyn L. Michael, who survives.

Ebby grew up in Angelica and attended Angelica Central School. In 1952 she graduated from East High School in Buffalo. For a short time she was employed at First Trust Bank in Angelica and later First Trust Bank in Belfast. For about two years she was an accountant at River Valley Farms in Belfast. For the next 25 years she was employed for Allegany Co. in Belmont. First she was employed at the Co. Treasurers office, then at the Office for the aging as senior accountant bookkeeper, retiring in 1996.

Ebby enjoyed square dancing at the Friendship Swingers dances, cooking, baking, cake decorating, traveling and knitting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She had attended the Belfast Free Methodist Church and was a past member of the Belfast Grange # 1068.

Surviving in addition to her husband Elwyn are a son, Dean E. Michael of Belfast; three daughters, Patricia L. (Ronald) Burr of Belfast, Elaine S. (Noe) Michael-Acosta of Friendswood, TX, and Mary A. Michael of Clear, Alaska; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Stanley) Victor of Manchester, TN, and Margie Taylor of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

Ebby was predeceased by a brother, J. Leslie Mull; and a sister Catherine Weilbacher.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast 2-4 and 7-9 Friday where funeral and committal services will be held Saturday March 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Robert J. Mackmer, pastor of the Belfast Free Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Belfast. Memorials may be made to the Belfast Rescue Squad.
