Dale W. Guinnip

Dale W. Guinnip, 68, of 8169 Rt. 417, Little Genesee, passed away March 6, 2016, following a brief illness. Born June 29, 1947 in Wellsville, he was the son of Glenn and Norma Lanphere Guinnip. On July 16, 2005 in Little Genesee, he married the former Dawn DaHill, who survives.

Dale had resided most of his life in the Friendship and Little Genesee areas. He grew up in Scio and attended the Scio Central School district. From 1963 until 1966 he served with the Army, in combat in Viet Nam. Following the Army, Dale was employed at the Friendship Foundry for several years and later for Morrison Knudsen. For 13 years before retirement he was an over the road truck driver.

Dale enjoyed woodworking and watching western movies on TV. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

He was a former member of the Bolivar American Legion Post number 772.

Surviving in addition to his wife Dawn are two daughters, Tammy Guinnip of AR, and Joni Mitchell of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Guinnip of Scio; three sisters, Karen Jandrew of Bolivar, Lou Ann (Gerry) Slocum of Scio, and Pam Giles of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

Dale was predeceased by a brother, Richard Guinnip and a sister, Linda Edwards.
