David W. Cole

David W. Cole, 77, of 7209 Frace Rd., Belfast, NY passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at his home, following a brief illness. Born May 19, 1946 in Fillmore, NY, he was the son of Laurence S. and Jayne M. Steinbiser Cole, On September 26, 1981, in Belfast, he married the former Monica D. Smith, who survives.

Dave had resided all of his life in the Belfast area. He attended and was a graduate of Belfast Central School, class of 1964. He served in the US Army in the Vietnam Era (1965-1967) and later many years as a machinist in Dresser-Rand Corp. in Wellsville, NY retiring in in March of 2008.

Dave loved hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Lilly and Cole.

He was a member of the Belfast American Legion # 1504, IAM Local 1580, an avid hockey fan of the Buffalo Sabres, and the Buffalo Bills football games, a lifetime member of the NRA, S.C.O.P.E. of Allegany Co., the Concerned Citizens of Allegany Co., Allegany Co. Non-violent Action Group, and Caretaker of the Allen Cemetery (Pioneers).

Surviving are his wife, Monica D. Cole of Belfast; a son, Jacob Cole of Belfast; a daughter, Sara (Keith) Bunce of Bradford. PA; 2 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several special cousins; 3 brothers in-law; and 5 sisters in-law.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, a brother Gary S. Cole, and nephew Eric D. Cole.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast from 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday September 15, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Dwight Kenyen officiating. Burial will be in Allen Cemtery.
