Donn H. Granger, 89, of 5598 Van Allen Road, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Wellsville, following a lengthy illness. Born April 26, 1925 in Corry, PA, he was the son of Harlan and Fenella Granger. On July 4, 1953, he married the former Rosalie M. Hayes, who survives.
Donn had resided most of his life in Angelica and was a graduate of Cuba Central School. For several years, he was a heavy equipment operator for Groves Construction Co., and for many years he was a dairy farmer in the Township of Angelica.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was an avid reader. Most of all he loved his family and being with them.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church of Belfast, member of the Hill-Warner American Legion post 414 of Angelica and had been town councilman for the Town of Angelica for several years.
Surviving in addition to his wife Rosalie are two sons, Donald P. Granger of Angelica, and William J. Granger of New York City, NY; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren;
a brother, Harlan (Barbara) Granger of Rochester; two sisters, Dorothy Robinson of FL, and Marie (Walt) Petrick of PA;
and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Donn was predeceased by a son, Daniel R. Granger; a daughter Deborah Ann Histed Granger; and a brother Roland Granger.
Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday August 25, 2014. A Rosary will be at 8:30pm Monday. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 10:15am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Church in Belfast. The Rev. Dennis Mancuso, Pastor will be celebrant and burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.
