Herman Ernest Truax, 58, of 81 west Hughes St., passed away Sunday June 5, 2016 at his home. Born November 5, 1958 in Wellsville, he was the son of Ernest and Mary Keller Truax. On June 3, 1989 in the Caneadea Town Hall, he married the former Lisa M. Clark, who survives.
Herman had resided all of his life in the Town of Belfast and was a graduate of Belfast Central School class of 1977.Following high school, Herman was employed at Belmont BOCES in the food service Dept. for 2 years. Then for a few years he worked at Bulk Tainers Corp. in Belfast.
For several years he worked at Mead Farms in Westfield, PA. For the next 30 years to the present time he was employed at Jerge's used Auto Parts in Belfast.
He was a collector of antiques and guns. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife Lisa are his father, Ernest Truax of Belfast; two sons, Michael L. Truax, and Bill B. Truax both at home; two brothers, Norm (Dawn) Truax of Silver Springs, and Clayton (Coleen) Truax of Wellsville; a sister, Tammy (Jim) Witt of Scio; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday where funeral services will be held on Thursday June 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Kyle Franklin, pastor of the Belfast 1st Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Belfast. Memorials may be made to the Belfast Rescue Squad.
