Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Forrest 93, of 106 West Main St. passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, unexpectedly, following a brief illness. Born November 16, 1921 in LaMadalaine, France, she was the daughter of Jean and Susan Bailly Francois. On July 24, 1954 in Cuba, NY, she married Frank I. Forrest, who predeceased her on November 13, 1982.
Jackie had grown up in LaMadalaine, France and was a graduate of the LaMadalaine school district. During WW2 she was a graduate of a clerical school and became an army secretary for the French army. In 1954 she moved to Friendship where she married Frank and began to raise her family.
She enjoyed knitting, making many different types of clothing. She especially liked making "Jackie socks" that she began knitting in France during the war. Most of all she loved her family and being with them.
Surviving are two daughters, Francine J. (Michael L. Crawford) Forrest of Scio, and Tricia J. (Jim) Heary of Friendship; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including Laura Manners of Richburg.
Jackie was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Dorrett.
There will be no visitations or funeral. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Co. SPCA, State Rt 19 South PO Box 381 Wellsville, NY 14895.
