Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Storm

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Storm, 91, of 4372 Moss Brook Rd. passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 following a lengthy illness. Born August 9, 1924 in Olean, she was the daughter of Clifton J. and Genevieve Sweeney Foster. On August 11, 1990 in the Sacred Heart Church of Friendship, she married Hurford A. Storm, who predeceased her on April 13, 1998. She had resided in the Storm home on Co. Rd. 1 for several years.

Betty had resided most of her life in Friendship where she grew up and graduated from Friendship Central School, class of 1942. After graduation, she was employed at the Sunnyside Poultry Farm of Friendship, for several years. Later she was hired by Friendship Dairies where she worked until her retirement in 1989.

She was an out door person who loved wild life and any out door activity. She loved farming, helping with the family farm work and also watching agriculture Channels on TV. Most of all her love was for her family, being with them and always offering a helping hand.

She was a past member of the Sacred Heart Church of Friendship and Our Lady of Angels Church in Cuba. She had been a Eucharist minister for the Sacred Heart Church in Friendship.

Surviving are a step son, William Darling of Bolivar; several step grandchildren; two brothers, Robert H. (Diane) Foster, and Raymond L. (Pam) Foster both of Friendship; two sisters, Ellen Enloe of Arcadia, California, and Regina Parks of Sun City, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Dot Foster and Bette Foster; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was predeceased by three brothers, Richard Foster, James Foster and Gerald Foster; a step grandson; a sister, Margaret Prescott; and a sister-in-law, Nora Lee Foster.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Friendship from 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 beginning with prayers at 10:15am at the funeral home, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Angels Church in Cuba. The Rev. Dennis Mancuso, Pastor will be Celebrant assisted by Deacon Frank Pasquale and burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Friendship.
