Mary Louise Rauhe, 87, of 8845 Lake Rd., Caneadea passed away Monday June 23, 2014 at The Episcopal Church Home in Rochester following a brief illness. Born April 17, 1927 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of Clinton and Isabel Dower Rauhe.
Mary grew up in Fillmore and was a graduate of Fillmore Central School, class of 1945. After graduating from high school, she worked at IBM designing computers used in NASA's program. In 1984 Mary retired from IBM at her home at Rushford Lake, she built a greenhouse, planted an orchard, and enjoyed life helping things grow. She loved traveling, baseball, walking with her dog and enjoying family and friends.
Mary was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Fillmore and a past member of the Zonta Club of Binghamton.
Surviving are a brother, James (Joyce) Rauhe of New Holland, PA; two sisters, Betty (Joseph) Lindsay of Rochester, and Sylvia (Robert) Hober of Martenez, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by a brother, Leland Rauhe; a sister Dorothy Burton; and best friend Roy Olmstead.
Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast, Saturday June 28, 2014, 10 am to 11 am at which time prayers will be recited. A mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Patrick's church in Fillmore at 12:00 noon. The Rev. Dennis Mancuso, Pastor, will be celebrant and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.
