Sara A. “Sally” Denning

Sara A. "Sally" Denning, 77, of 6941 Lake Rd. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 following a brief llness. Born December 5, 1939 in Ridgeway, PA, she was the daughter of Charles Henry and Frances Lucille Walizer Harbridge. On March 19, 1960, in Bradford, PA, she married Frederick A. Denning, who survives.

Sally had gown up in Ridgeway, PA and had been a graduate of Smethport, PA High School, class of 1958.After graduating she was a clerk at the Bradford Bank for a short period of time. She then attended airline school in Minneapolis, MN and was employed at Northwest Orient Airlines for a brief time. After meeting her to be husband, she returned home to Bradford and was married. At this time, they moved to California to begin raising their family.

In 1968 they moved to Rochester, where she was employed in the cafeteria of the Rochester Product Co. later named Delphi Co. Eventually she was named manager of the employees store at Delphi. She and her husband moved to Belfast in 1997.

Sally enjoyed reading, attending church services and most of all loved visiting with her family and many friends.

She was a member of the Belfast Free Methodist Church, former treasurer of Lifeway Youth program in Belfast, a past member of the Belfast Crafty Bells, a past member of the Red Hats Club of Belfast and member of the adult bible Study Class of the Free Methodist Church.

Surviving besides her husband Fred are two sons, Andy D. Denning of Brockport, and Rodger A. (Elizabeth) Denning of Rochester; a daughter, Drusilla A. (Martha) Denning-Corley of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren and two great granddaughters; two sisters, Kathryn (Sam) Kinkead of Ridgeway, PA, and Karolyn (Richard) Rhodes of Ormsby, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Sally was predeceased by a brother, Arlan Neal.

A private viewing by the family will be held at Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast. Friends are invited to attend a memorial funeral service at the Belfast Free Methodist Church on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm.The Rev. Robert Mackmer, Pastor will officiate.
