Shirley M. Arnold

Shirley M. Arnold, 79, of 8838 RT 19, Caneadea, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Jones Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born July 11, 1936 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of Clyde S. and Sarah Shirey Bradybaugh. On February 20, 1955 in the Fillmore Methodist Church, she married Lee G. Arnold, who predeceased her September 25, 2011.

Shirley grew up in both Friendship and Belfast, attending both schools. After her education, she became an assembly operator at Motorola Inc. in Arcade for 10 years. In 1981 she became employed at Houghton Nursing Home, in the house keeping dept. where she worked for the next 18 years, retiring in 1999.

She enjoyed bird watching, traveling with her husband in his truck, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Jerry L. Arnold of Fillmore, and David G. Arnold of Caneadea; three daughters, Joyce E. (Kenneth) Eastman of Delevan, Alyce A. Arnold of Caneadea, and Kathy L. Arnold of Caneadea; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; four brothers, James (Kela) Hartman of Mills Run, PA, Richard (Cindy) Hartman of Arcade, Clyde "Punk"(Pat) Bradybaugh of Oil City, PA, and Fety "Skip" Bradybaugh of Oil City, PA; two sisters, Charlotte Wright of Titusville, PA, and Donna (Doug) Byroads of Yorkshire; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by four sisters, Belle Gomez, Helen Masten, Gertrude Urey and Joyce Hartman.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday where funeral services will be held Tuesday Dec. 8, 2015 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Fred Flint of Canasaraga, will officiate and burial will be in Caneadea Cemetery.
