Steven J. Burrows

Steven J. Burrows, 61, of 8439 Rt 19, Oramel, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, April 18, 2016, at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville. Born July 18, 1954 in the Town of Wirt, he was the son of Joseph R. and Doris Halladay Burrows.

Steve had grown up in Wellsville and had attended the Friendship and Belfast School districts. Following school, he served in the Marine Corp. where he was stationed in Hawaii for the most part of his military life. Fort a short time after serving in the military he was employed at the Belfast Mobil Station and from there for many years was employed Jerge's Salvage Yard in Belfast. Later he became owner operator of "Burrows Small Engine Repair" in Oramel.

Steve enjoyed flower gardening, attending yard sales, hunting, trapping. He loved his dogs, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his Grand Daughters.

Surviving are his longtime partner, Jennifer Kline; two sons, Cory (Christina) Burrows of Belfast, and Justin J. Burrows of Oramel; three granddaughters, Carley Burrows, Cylie Burrows and Caylin Burrows; a brother, Dennis (Betty) Burrows of Belmont; a brother in law, Harold Hodgkins; seven sisters, April Daily of Wellsville, Barbara Roeske of Wellsville, Arlene (Judd) Carlin of Wellsville, Diane (Ronald Newton) Beardsley of Wellsville, Judy (Neil) Storms of Akin, SC, Cindy Burrows of Wellsville, and Wendy Burrows of Hume; and several nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by two brothers, Larry Burrows Frank Burrows; and three sisters Dixie Deming, Angie Jackson, and Bonnie Hodgkins.

Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home from 4-6 pm on Thursday April 21, 2016 where a memorial funeral service will be held immediately following at 6:00 pm. The Rev. Robert Mackmer.

Pastor of the Belfast Free Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Oramel Cemetery, Town of Caneadea. Memorials may be made to the Belfast Rescue Squad. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.treusdellfuneralhome.com
